Always reliable for bigger purchases

I've used Katapult a few times now, mainly for fitness equipment like that Peloton I've been eyeing, and they've always been super consistent. The lease to own process is pretty straightforward, and I appreciate that I can usually find a promo code to knock 20% off the initial payment. My only minor gripe is sometimes their partner retailers don't have the exact model I want in stock, but that's not really Katapult's fault.

Good for financing a new TV

I used Katapult to get a new Television. The application process was pretty straightforward online, just filled out some info and got approved quickly. My TV arrived two days earlier than the tracking said it would, which was a nice surprise. The payments are manageable for me right now, and the terms were clear from the start. I had a question about my payment schedule and used their online chat; the rep was helpful, though it took a few minutes to connect with someone. Overall, it let me get something I needed without a big upfront cost.

Reliable way to lease things

This wasn't my first time using Katapult, I've leased a few things through them now, like a computer last year and this time some new furniture. They've been consistent. The process is always smooth and quick, which I appreciate. Payments are predictable, and I haven't had any issues with their service. It's a reliable option for when I need something but don't want to buy it outright.

Decent deal with $1 payment

I was looking for a new gaming console and saw the $1 initial payment offer for Katapult. It made it much easier to get started without dropping a lot of cash upfront. The lease terms seemed fair enough for what I needed, and the weekly payments are okay. It felt like a good way to get the console without stressing my budget too much this month.

Hey, I'm looking at getting a new TV through Katapult. Do they actually check your credit score, or is it more like a soft pull thing?

O Omar G. 1 month ago
Nah, they don't do a hard credit check. It's more about your income and bank account history, I think.

Can confirm, they approved me even with not-so-great credit. It's not like getting a traditional loan from what I understand.

If I lease a gaming console and then decide I don't want it after a month, can I just return it without any issues?

K Kevin W. 2 months ago
I returned a tablet last year, it was pretty straightforward. Just follow their instructions.

Yeah, you can return items. It's part of the lease-to-own thing. Just make sure you understand the terms for returning. It's not like a regular store return policy where you just drop it off. You gotta initiate it with them.

How does Katapult compare to something like Affirm or Klarna? Is it basically the same deal?

N Nina Patel 2 months ago
Not really. Affirm and Klarna are more like short-term loans, you pay it back. Katapult is lease-to-own. You're basically renting it until you buy it, if that makes sense. Different vibe.

Yeah, it's pretty different. With Katapult, if you don't keep paying, you can return the item. With Affirm, you're on the hook for the loan even if you hate the product.

i'm trying to buy something from wayfair and use katapult, are there any codes floating around for like a $1 initial payment or something? $45 feels a bit steep right now.

S Shane 2 months ago
Yeah, they do those sometimes, especially around holidays. I saw one for Black Friday last year. Keep an eye out.

Check their site or sign up for emails, they usually announce them. I got a $5 one a while back for a mattress, not $1 but still better than $45.
